Mod furnishings, colorful pattern play, cheery flowers and cool resort wear hinted at the glamour of another era in this styled wedding shoot captured by photographer Anna Kim for Pacific Weddings magazine. We crafted a swanky sparkle of a setting inspired by designer Jonathon Adler's midcentury modern vibe.
The sleek surroundings of Hale Honu, a private estate tucked away on Maui’s southernmost coast, provided just the setting for a poolside reception inspired by the midcentury modern design ethos of Palm Springs, California. The styling cues—and hues—of the day were dictated by renowned interior designer and décor guru Jonathan Adler, known for his refreshing mix of wit and whimsy in everything from pottery and furniture to bedding, stationery and hotel design. Over the years, his name has become ubiquitous with the Old Hollywood-meets-new-bohemia vibe of Palm Springs, where he famously lent his worldly aesthetic to the Parker Palm Springs Hotel. In redesigning the former Givenchy resort in a town that’s serious about luxury, Adler's mantra was to unite happiness and chic. He says, “I believe design should always be chic, always glamorous and always colorful.”
